Abstract: The issue of morality in our society and the quest for certificate in the face of poor academic performance has been very worrisome as it has increased the spate of examination malpractices in Nigerian school system. This paper reviewed the remote causes, the various forms of examination malpractice especially and its effects on educational achievements in Nigerian students. It also looked at the possible ways of curbing the menace. The result of the study shows that the students are affected by examination malpractice as it leads to lack of confidence, laziness, weak morale conscience, In order to combat examination malpractice, less emphasis should be placed in certificate. Parents should be counseled not to mount pressure on their wards to study the courses of their interest.
